Faith/Inspiration/Motivation

I am sitting here writing this towards the very end of 2020. A year that can be described as apocalyptic. A year that people have been pushed to their limits, and then some. A year that has changed the world forever.

“Rock bottom” to me, means being in a place that feels so hopeless that it takes all of your energy and mental capacity to keep going. I can honestly say that I have been in this place more than once this year. Whether it be due to my own anxieties about the world and how I compare to others or whether it be due to all the extreme, external noise.

I don’t mean to sound cliche but I do believe that once you hit rock bottom, the only way to go is up. And I don’t say that lightly. Sitting at rock bottom for a while is sometimes necessary. And can happen more than once. It’s hard up there. It’s okay to rest. But there does come a point where you need to take accountability for yourself and stand up again.

Taking accountability is a powerful tool. Only you are responsible for yourself. The thought can be daunting but when put into proper practice, is life changing. You are capable of anything that you are willing to put the work in for. You have the power to change your life around today.

Race and Grief have impacted and continue to impact my life greatly. Writing about these topics and sharing them have changed my life - it has given me the opportunity to use the voice that was silenced years ago. I hope that it helps people in relatable situations feel less alone.
