Your three lucky charms

Your Three Lucky Charms

There was once a time where all you would hear in the skincare industry would be, ‘cleanse, tone, moisturise.’ Those three words which were the very epitome of skin care. Flash forward to the year 2021; we have become experts in our skin and are fully embracing our perfect imperfections.

I’m here to share the three must haves for your routine and they go buy the names of:- double cleanse, eye cream and SPF.

Double cleansing is predominately for your PM routine; the concept behind the double cleansing method is to use a cleansing oil first (I use a jojoba oil, £9.99 from Holland&Barrett) to remove your makeup and daily grime. This step will eradicate your skins barrier to make way for your standard cleanser to have a thorough cleanse of your skin, essentially what it’s designed to do.

Next up, the eye cream. Protects and moisturises the thin layer of skin around your eye socket. Assists in the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles caused by sun damage and thus less collagen being produced. You ideally want to look out for an eye cream that contains active ingredients in either vitamin c, peptides or retinol as these can all boost your collagen production; incorporate this after your double cleanse and before your serums or oils!

We are saving the best ‘til last with, SPF. The benefits are endless but, the most important use is to protect your skin from the risk of developing squamous cell carcinoma (a form of skin cancer), helps to prevent premature aging caused by the sun, basically all the nasties!

You do not need to break the bank with skincare; look for quality ingredients and religiously stick to your skin care routine and you WILL see a change!

Hi I’m Gaby Rodriguez and currently living in beautiful Sussex with my parents and golden retriever (who is literally my fur baby!) In my early teens, I had an in-depth interest in media and photography which I then chose to study this for my a-levels where I discovered my passion for digital marketing, blogging and photography. With the combination of my education background and my acne, this gave me the push to set up my blogging platform of, ‘a is for acne’. When I’m not blogging and working as a full time sales manager, I enjoy baking for the family, (especially choc chip cookies!) going on long countryside hikes, playing tennis with my Mum and exploring new European cities with my mum!
