Robyn Charles carries one of soul music’s most recognized last names, and in this issue she talks openly about what it’s like to honor her father’s legacy while still sounding like herself. “We just have a different sound and, in many cases, different motivations for how and why we make music,” she says.
The cover story covers a lot of ground: her early work in blockchain and Web3 as tools to help independent artists get paid fairly, her advocacy for domestic abuse survivors, and her mentorship work with organizations like Rising Stars Africa.
