Get ahead of the game with these make-up hacks

It’s no secret that I am a huge skincare advocate but my favourite past time is sitting in front of the mirror, peppermint tea in hand, trying out new make-up looks and listening to a good podcast; my ultimate therapy.

So, it goes without saying that I’ve had my fair share of experiences and today, I bring you my knowledge with these survival makeup hacks you can try, without all the hassle!

1. Throw out your foundation brush and let me introduce you to the beauty blender. Use this to apply your foundation/concealer and you will end up with a flawless, photoshop finish. Every. Single. Time.

2. Apply your concealer in an upside/down triangle. This will help to brighten any dark circles and draw attention to your pupils.

3. If your favourite mascara is running low or has gone clumpy, plug your hairdryer in and give it a quick two-minute blast. The heat will add moisturise to the mascara’s formula and extend it’s shelf life (disclaimer: you can do the same to your lash curlers to get a more prominent curl).

4. Making your lipstick last all night long – place a tissue over your lips and apply a translucent powder over the tissue to reveal a matte pout that’s smudge proof.

5. If you want something more lightweight for the summer months, try this DIY tinted moisturiser hack: use equal parts of foundation and moisturiser and mix in a glass jar/bottle. For a more sun-kissed look, try adding in a few drops of gel bronzer or liquid highlighter for dewy, glowing skin.

About Author

Hi I’m Gaby Rodriguez and currently living in beautiful Sussex with my parents and golden retriever (who is literally my fur baby!) In my early teens, I had an in-depth interest in media and photography which I then chose to study this for my a-levels where I discovered my passion for digital marketing, blogging and photography. With the combination of my education background and my acne, this gave me the push to set up my blogging platform of, ‘a is for acne’. When I’m not blogging and working as a full time sales manager, I enjoy baking for the family, (especially choc chip cookies!) going on long countryside hikes, playing tennis with my Mum and exploring new European cities with my mum!
