Perazim Magazine: Issue XIV Highlights

2020 was a tough year for everybody, not least our nation’s beloved healthcare professionals who were forced on more than one occasion to put their lives on the line in an effort to keep the country standing. With that in mind it felt only right to dedicate Issue XIV to the brave individuals who have sacrificed so much during the past 12 months. Here we reveal just a few of the highlights from the interview’s featured in the latest Issue of Perazim magazine, which is available to purchase now.

Reaching new heights

Standing at 6ft 6 and boasting the chiselled jawline of a runway model, Dr Emeka Okorocha doesn’t exactly look like your typical healthcare professional. The Nigerian is however proving to be much more than just a pretty face. Since featuring on season four of Junior Doctors, the 27-year-old’s career has gone from strength to strength. Subsequent television appearances and a whole host of informative viral videos have seen the Port Harcourt native amass a loyal following. Destined for further success this year, Dr Emeka sat down with Perazim to detail how he plans to reach the next level.

Far from General

Oprah Winfrey is credited with saying that, “to move forward you have to give back.” It seems that Dr Adwoa Danso was listening. In fact, this ‘New School GP’ has spent her life redefining what it means to be a doctor. Not content with just helping patients at her practice, the Ghanaian decided to set-up Clinic Diaries, an online safe space where the health questions you are too afraid to ask are answered. Perazim sat down with the winner of the 2019 NHSC BAME Health and Well-being Advocate award to discuss how she aims to further increase her reach.

Hey Jude

The next time a friend tells you that they have been too busy to text back, point them in the direction of Dr Obi Jude. The father of two balances family life with a career as an Orthopaedic Surgeon all whilst public speaking, filmmaking and running his own business. Bet you are feeling a bit lazy right about now. Perazim sat down with the Nigerian to better understand what lead him to pursue a career as an orthopaedic surgeon and to learn how he is able to find time for all his extra commitments. The latest issue of Perazim is available in print and digital here.

About Author

My dream growing up was to become a football player. Unfortunately, I came to realise early on that it takes a lot more than just an exotic sounding name to be able to play in the Premier League. I have since set himself a new goal (see what I did there), which is to dedicate myself to working on meaningful creative projects, hence my involvement with Perazim. I joined the magazine in October 2019 as a writer and have gone on to occupy every position in the editorial team. As the Editorial Coordinator I am directly responsible for managing a team of writers and for providing them with guidance on all content related issues. Aside from my duties at Perazim I spend my time performing stand-up comedy across the country, hosting my own radio show and attempting to memorise the entire TFL map.
