Whilst you are on your travels and immersing yourself in foreign cultures, the last thing you want to be worrying about is looking after your skin and knowing how or what to bring with you. So, grab yourself a pen and paper and listen up!
1. The night before – it is important to prep our skin before we expose our pores to the dehydrating effects of cabin pressure. I always apply an intense moisturiser the night before I fly; a heavy-duty moisture surge or an overnight moisture mask will do just fine. This will help to lock in your skin’s hydration and keep our skin’s natural glow.
2. Make facial mists your number one cabin companion – any mineral water facial mist will suffice and do wonders for your skin during the moisture-sucking flight. This versatile beauty product is essential for preventing our skin from drying out, helps to revitalise tired skin and refreshes and brightens our skins complexion.
3. Serum up buttercup – when we travel, we tend to spend more time outside where we are exposed to bacteria’s, dust and other nasties which can cause our pores to clog. Serums that contain lactic, glycolic, or salicylic acid work wonders and provide a gentle exfoliation for our skin. I would suggest mixing it up and using a combination of these serums daily, to see how well your skin responds to them.
4. Pucker up – Investing in lip care is the single most important thing you can do to keep them looking plump and hydrated! Our lips are sensitive to all weather types but especially the heat and cold; sun exposure destroys collagen which is a protein that is abundant in the lips. Exfoliating your lips, the night before can eliminate any dry skin and restore the skin tissue’s natural smoothness and shine. Using a lip balm or oil (depending on personal preference) that is high in Vitamin E, promotes cell turnover and regeneration which helps speed up bringing new cells to the surface.
